UN Officially Considers Rape a War Crime

It’s 2020. Rape is rape is rape and every act of rape, in or out of wartime, is an act of war, a violation against another human being.

There is reason to applaud the UN for steps taken in 2008 to protect “the security of women and girls in situations of armed conflict”rape and other forms of sexual violence could constitute a WAR crime, a crime against HUMANITY, or a constitutive act with respect to GENOCIDE."

It’s been raging far too long. Grateful for the momentum of #MeToo. Much more needs to be done to address this pandemic.
