The sad truth of living in urban centres. This rush doesn't exist in smaller towns. Remember standing on the curb and was shocked when traffic stopped for me to cross. So unusual, even my kids noticed. This would never happen in an urban centre and if it did, it would be rare! Because, as you say, everyone is racing to get somewhere.
