Thank you, Dr Mehmet Yildiz. My suggestion: that publications formally contact MEDIUM for clarification and separate contract “in writing” regarding the term and condition which matters most;

“Unless otherwise agreed in writing… without compensation to you.”

Together, a Illumination Publication has more leverage than a single writer negotiating with Medium and having individual contracts.

If the exemption is received, the work of all writers’ published in Illumination will be protected starting September 1, 2020.

Transparency and trust are paramount to a healthy, thriving community; that which respects and supports the autonomy of writers within the Medium platform and future services.
