I’ve read this a couple of times ~ and I keep going back to coal mines, the miners who go deep into the earth to shovel its treasure ~ to drink days of life, earn a living but at what cost? Because this work will expect: “you can’t stay without paying the tolls” and the toll can be as high as paying the price with one’s life.
