Rebecca, I just went back to reread your story and now caught you were sleeping in a hammock. The thought of being in a tribal mother’s baby carrier sling just came to mind. Your energy spoke for you which is why you didn’t wake up.

I have the best deep sleeps in a hammock ~ I’ve had family come right up to me and I don’t wake. But other times, I’m up like a shot with strange energy.

Your energy would have alerted you if the presence was intent on harm and Higher Self (Mother/One) would understand the energy that drew circles. Whoever was there definitely did a ritual and may have wanted to know if you were there to hurt them seeing as some of the villagers were not happy with tourists coming to the ruins. Since you weren’t there to harm, no harm would come to you both because of your energy.
