When you buy a Substack subscription, your receipt will say "Medium" because Substack uses Medium's payment processing system to handle transactions. Currently Substack is a separate platform for publishing content.


I always thought Substack was separate but using Medium to process payments gave me reason to pause. Either way, they make money.
