Hi Terrie, thank you for this article and all the efforts being made by you, Ariel, Buster and the Medium team.
My concern is with the analogy. I've worked as an Art Director and Editor for a magazine. What I am seeing boosted would not have been given a pass.
Cover stories make or break bank for the company.
Please consider that not all Editors/curators are skilled to know or appreciate visual communication (readability, legibility, layout, design, white space, etc).
Many boosted stories still require polishing and crafting to become a cover or lead story.
Please, reconsider the boost and who is assigned that power.
