Hi Nitin, the good old days —wish we still had the algorithm of 2019. Worked in our favour back then. My views tanked as it did for many writers.
You are not ancient. We compete with bots that have an unfair advantage. A bot reads 100's of stories at a time. In the end, it affects and distorts the algorithm. Bottom line, has a negative impact.
The key factor today is engagement—this is what the algorithm searches for—those conversations in comments are gold.
For read ratio, which I have tested, there are markers within the text. If a reader does not scroll to the very end of a web page or past the end of the story, it counts as a view, not a read.
The first 24 hours is critical for engagement. It matters what time you post a story.
