Hi Jill, this bear is Native American art painted intentionally in black and white. My gut reaction is the spirit animal cannot breath under all these layers of paint to mask its identity/peoples. I feel for Indigenous Peoples, what has been done to them via colonization. While it is good to have family doing something together, it’s important to consider what this art represents and how it is treated.
