the writer signed up for a Substack subscription.
Stripe flagged the transaction as
possible fraud and this is how the writer found out.
The payment went to Medium.com

STRIPE is a banking system and agree, they won’t make this type of error. I also have a few business Stripe accounts.

Whatever business dealings are going on, we will probably never be told as Medium is a private company.
