Hi Annie, a popular topic today on Medium:) Read Terrie’s Medium Blog response to Medium’s AI-content use here and what steps they are taking.
As for photography and detecting airbrushed/altered imagery, to the uneducated eye, yes it is harder to detect. To the photographer, we know it’s been altered and to what degree. 😊
All photography is altered in post production ~ simply because it is art and needs to reflect our vision and intention.
Whenever someone says no filters used, I smile. Your camera has embedded parameters. It’s automated. So the filters are there. Unless you shoot manual:)
As for embracing AI, yes, there are positives and will push creatives to keep one step ahead. As a tool, in moderation, it will open up new art forms.
But it bothers me that in writing or art, current AI steals from the artist. So while we input authentic today, rest assured AI will use this as well to appear more human tomorrow.
