Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments.
Therefore, each moment is vital.
It affects the whole.
Life is a succession of such moments and to live each,
is to succeed.¹
—Corita Kent

Stay here, remain present — a mantra on repeat. I adjusted my mask while balancing six feet of safety between myself and strangers, a Covid-dance at the threshold of pink double doors.

B-r-e-a-t-h-e, I reminded myself.

Thoughts divided, my inner and outer world collided in the middle of a socially distanced floral art exhibition. After eighteen months of quarantine isolation and restrictions combined, why was I afraid to venture out?

Because the body remembers.

With seeing so many people, my fear-based thoughts pushed their agenda — return home. I was not ready to socialize outside of my Covid-bubble. But, giving in to fear was not the answer.

I have grown tired of giving flight to fears that control my narrative. When the pandemic brought the world to its knees, I, too, sheltered at home as we closed our doors to each other. The message broadcast was dire: it’s not safe out therestay safe, stay home.
