Being an Editor, I see this happening as well.
Use Grammarly or whatever to spellcheck and offer suggestions.
If the writer ends up using more and more suggestions, it’s no longer the writer’s voice.

It’s your pub. Reject it if it doesn’t ring true for you. Period.
